Studies in Euphemisms have been so far made from many perspectives, such as semantic study. cultural study pragmatic study, social study and the study based on the theory of ambiguity, ete. Although many achievements have been made, deficiencies still exist, and one of them is the social psychological study in euphemisms,which is restricted to the study of taboo avoidance, politeness and political disguise.In this paper, the author attempts to make a more detailed social psychological study in euphemisms,which is restricted to the study of taboo avoidance, politeness and political disguise. In this paper, the author atempts to make a more detailed social psychological study in euphemisms. Through extensive and deep exploration, the author draws a conclusion that the social psychological factors at work in the occurrence of euphemisms are as follows: taboo avoidance to show awe to gods and ghosts, to show respect for ancestors or to create an auspicious atmosphere; politeness and self- respect; self-defensive disguise; shyness and the fear of power.
