• Abstract: 本文尝试从功能文体学角度分析音乐剧《猫》中的插曲《Memory》。歌曲作为音乐剧的一部分，对整个故事情节的发展发挥着至关重要的作用。本文拟以功能语法理论为指导，以本首歌的歌词为研究对象，分别从概念功能、人际功能两个方面进行探讨，旨在深入理解和把握歌曲内涵，揭示魅力猫的一生，为分析音乐剧歌词提供一个新的视角，并检验功能语法在歌词分析中的适用性和可操作性。
• This paper attempts to analyze Memory, a episode in the music theater Cats, from the perspective of functional stylistics. Episodes play crucial role in the development of the entire storyline. Therefore, the paper discusses the conceptual function and interpersonal function respectively on the basis of functional grammar, aiming to deeply understand the connotation of the song and reveal the whole life of the charming cat. It also expected to provide a new perspective for the analysis of musical lyrics, and test the practicality and maneuverability of functional grammar in lyrics analysis.
