How to tell Chinese stories and spread Chinese culture is not only
the work of publicity departments, but also the important responsibility of
translators. Effective external communication is inseparable from the translator’s
personal comprehensive quality and the translator’s sense of responsibility. On
the basis of adhering to the principle of “duty-bound to defend the territory of
our country” to achieve the purpose of communication, the translator should
not only consider the actual differences between the two cultures and languages,
but also consider the discourse norms, acceptance psychology and aesthetic
standards formed by the speakers of the two languages in the inherent cultural
context. In the telling of Chinese stories, the translator should appreciate the
value of others and ourselves.
