In this paper, the author will use feminist translation theory to
analyze the two translated versions of Mrs. Dalloway by Wang Jiaxiang (2001)
as well as Sun Liang and Su Mei (1988). The author will analyze it with feminist
translation strategies, including supplementing, hijacking, reflection of female
experience and body translation, so as to uncover the differences between the
two versions. The author finds that the Wang(female) mainly adopts simple
and clear diction, while Sun(male)’s translation is more fluent and flexible in
wording. When reflecting on the translation related to female experience and
body, Wang is better able to convey the original message of the writer.
