With more and more Chinese soldiers going abroad and participating in
the international affairs, military academies are required to cultivate a large number
of military personnel with solid command of military English ability in application.
How to improve cadets’ language skills and expand their military knowledge as well
in the military English teaching is a critical problem that each English teacher is faced
with. Content-based instruction provides theoretical guidance for military English
teaching, while a six-T’s approach enables CBI to be better applied. In this paper, the
author design an eight-hour teaching unit to explain how teachers use six-T’s approach
in military English teaching to achieve the dual goals of language teaching and content
teaching.
