Based on the study of 1782 college students of non-English majors, this survey explores the present situation of the college English teaching, the construction of the college English follow-up course system, and optimization of the teaching staff. The research found that students do not have much interest in the present English course and there is an urgent need in follow-up courses. Meanwhile, the construction of the teaching staff should be put on the agenda. The research aims at providing suggestions for the reform of college English teaching.
