Labor education and ideological-political education hold significant importance in the context of new developments in higher education. Traditional labor education activities are constrained by time and space, often presenting limited forms and lacking sufficient appeal to students. Meanwhile, conventional ideological and political education has struggled to effectively bridge these gaps. With the advancement of artificial intelligence and metaverse platforms, new technologies have empowered labor education with innovative forms and insights. This paper explores a new educational model that deeply integrates labor education with ideological and political instruction through the construction of intelligent metaverse platforms. Taking virtual labor and public welfare activities as the core components of integration, this study examines the role of the meta-verse in promoting labor values and ideological identity among students. It discusses how students develop a sense of meaning through new types of labor and how such experiences foster ideological recognition and a sense of social responsibility. The research finds that virtual technologies significantly enhance students’ enthusiasm for participating in labor. By creating immersive and interactive virtual labor environments, students are more engaged and invested. Furthermore, virtual technologies facilitate the seamless combination of labor education and ideological-political education. Students not only gain practical labor experience in simulated environments but are also subtly influenced by embedded ideological and political concepts. In this regard, virtual technology serves as a powerful complement to traditional labor education. While traditional approaches are limited by time, space, and resources, virtual environments overcome these barriers, offering more flexible and diverse settings for education. The practical significance of this study lies in its potential to contribute to the holistic development of university students in the new era, encompassing moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education.
