Family-based childcare is an important and effective childcare method, which can effectively solve family childcare problems and reduce the burden on parents. In practice, family-based childcare faces a series of difficulties: the number of institutions is insufficient, there is a lack of unified regulations and supervision for the quality assurance of childcare institutions, the service quality is uneven, the supply and demand contradiction is prominent, the price of childcare services is relatively high, and there is a significant shortage of professional personnel. These factors make it difficult for family-based childcare to be widely popularized. To achieve the goal of “ensuring infants’ access to childcare and nurturing” across society, the government, society, and family-based childcare services providers should collaborate to create a high-quality childcare environment for young children, improve relevant regulations and policies, establish standardized supervision mechanisms, and promote the high-quality, high-standard development of family-based childcare services.
