The unified compilation of high school history textbooks faces numerous challenges during their implementation. These primarily include the contradiction between the extensive content of the new textbooks and the limited history class hours, the conflict between the innovative design of the new textbooks and the outdated perspectives of teachers, and the tension between the new textbooks’ focus on cultivating core competencies and the pressures of college entrance examinations. In the context of the new curriculum reform, to effectively address these contradictions in history teaching, the most crucial factor is the collaborative effort of the entire education system. Specifically, this requires support from relevant educational departments, active cooperation from schools, and self-improvement efforts by history teachers.
