As an important practical course, undergraduate thesis in psychology teacher education is tasked with cultivating psychology majors’ professional abilities and skills in mental health education, shaping their professional qualities and identity as teachers. It plays a significant supportive role in achieving the goal of training mental health education teachers. The integration of ideological and political elements into the teaching of undergraduate theses in psychology teacher education has shown deficiencies in the management of the teaching process, particularly in the lack of detailed and targeted ideological and political dimensions at various stages. There is also a shortage of operational guidelines to achieve ideological and political objectives at each stage of teaching. Drawing on existing research findings, this paper proposes seven course objectives designed to incorporate ideological and political elements, a phased and detailed design for incorporating these elements, and key points for managing the teaching process with ideological and political elements integrated.
