With the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposing the construction of a high-quality education system, deepening curriculum and teaching reform, and transforming the way of educating people have become important directions for educational development. The purpose of project-based teaching reform is to achieve a revolution in the classroom, homework, and evaluation, to improve the overall academic quality and core literacy of students, and to build a healthy and sustainable new educational ecosystem. At the same time, projectbased learning aims to lead the innovation of teaching and learning methods, emphasizing innovative, generative, developmental, and cooperative approaches to teaching and learning. Project-based learning has a significant effect on improving students’ learning motivation and attitudes, learning content and resources, learning environment and activities, and teaching behaviors. However, project-based learning also has its limitations. This article combines theory with practice to explore the ways and methods of project-based teaching reform, and on the basis of its advantages and limitations, offers some constructive suggestions for reference in teaching reform.
