This study delves into the cultivation of primary school generalist teachers in ethnic minority regions. It begins by analyzing the current situation of structural imbalance among primary school teachers in these regions and its causes, while elucidating the importance and urgency of cultivating generalist teachers. Subsequently, the study proposes a cultivation pathway for generalist teachers among pre-service education majors in primary education, focusing on two aspects: curriculum design and teaching, as well as educational internships and practical ability enhancement. Additionally, the study discusses the professional development of primary school teachers and the enhancement of their generalist abilities, including in-service teacher training for generalist competencies and the establishment of policy support and incentive mechanisms. Corresponding strategies are also put forward for the construction of the rural primary school teacher workforce and the cultivation of generalist teachers. Finally, by strengthening the promotion and education of the generalist teacher profession, as well as enhancing the interest and enthusiasm of pre-service teachers in generalist teaching, the study aims to foster their understanding and acceptance of the role of generalist teachers.
