This study explores the mechanisms for enhancing the academic English pragmatic competence of graduate students in the new era. The research identifies several shortcomings in the current graduate English teaching models regarding the cultivation of academic pragmatic competence. To address these issues, the paper proposes four key strategies: constructing a systematic curriculum, optimizing task-based teaching methods, integrating AI technologies, and strengthening evaluation and feedback mechanisms. These measures are expected to significantly improve graduate students’ academic English proficiency, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in international academic exchanges.
