The Relationship Between Professional Identity, Academic Resilience, and Academic Performance among English Majors: The Mediating Effects of Self-efficacy
This paper primarily explored the predictive roles of professional identity and academic resilience on the academic performance of English majors, and the mediating effects of self-efficacy. Data were collected through a survey of 91 English majors. The results show that both professional identity and academic resilience had direct predictive effects on English academic performance, and self-efficacy showed a positive mediating effect. The findings attempt to provide practical implications for English majors to strengthen their professional identity, enhance academic resilience, and ultimately improve learning outcomes.
