Exercises settings are an important part of listening textbooks for international Chinese language education. Taking exercises in listening textbooks for international Chinese language education as the research object, through methods such as word cloud analysis, keyword network analysis, vocabulary co-occurrence matrix analysis, and neighbor words analysis, it is found that there is a trend of diversified development in the current research content of listening exercises. Existing research has focused on the development of exercises, the user factors, and using empirical research methods such as teaching experiments and exercise design. However, there are still issues in the research, such as insufficient richness and diversity of research materials, lack of theoretical support, tendency towards superficial and simplified comparison in exercises setting research, and insufficient in-depth research on the interaction between exercise users and designers.
