A Study on the Problems and Coping Strategies of Teacher- Student Interaction in Elementary Schools in the Perspective of Nonviolent Communication: A Case Study of a Primary School
Education is recognized as a key component in shaping a child’s future development. At the elementary school level, interactions between teachers and students are crucial to students’ growth. However, in reality, teacher-student interactions are often characterized by a lack of observation and understanding of students, and neglect of students’ needs and feelings, which inevitably creates barriers to communication with students due to differences in perceptions and values between teachers and students in teaching and student management. As a way of respecting others and communicating effectively, nonviolent communication can effectively ease the tense atmosphere between teachers and students, promote emotional communication, and help establish positive teacher-student relationships. Therefore, this study mainly adopts the observation method and questionnaire survey method to investigate the current situation of interactions between teachers and students in elementary school, to illustrate the problems in the process of teacher-student interactions in elementary school from the perspective of teachers and students respectively, and to explore the role and significance of nonviolent communication in improving teacher-student interactions. Through in-depth research, it is hoped that certain theoretical guidance and reference can be provided for elementary school education practice to help teachers go deeper into students, break down the barriers of interactions between teachers and students, so that a bridge of love and respect can be built between teachers and students to promote the construction of harmonious and cordial teacher-student relationships, and to provide a better guarantee for the students’ healthy growth and all-round development.
