Scientific spirit is an important part of scientific quality and is vital to the growth of youth. This paper takes family education as an entry point and explores the mode and strategy of cultivating youth science spirit based on family education in the context of “double reduction” policy, which is important for the implementation of “double reduction” policy and the improvement of youth science quality in China. Based on the analysis of the current situation of cultivating youth science spirit based on family education, specific suggestions are made to carry out scientist spirit education in families in various forms, actively participate in science and technology volunteer public service, and organize parent-child science popularization “second classroom” countermeasures in multiple fields.
