The birth of ChatGPT will lead college teaching from the digital era to the era of artificial intelligence. With the help of ChatGPT and its functions of “scaffolding”, “lesson preparation assistant”, “information bridge” and others, the status quo of university teaching digitalization,which stucked at a superficial level, centers on the knowledge taught by teachers, and shows very limited openness will be improved. ChatGPT will promote the transformation of “knowledge-based” classroom to “thinking” classroom, college teaching from “factory mode” to “personalized mode”, and teaching transmission from “closed internal cycle” to “open source multi-circulation”. In order to make the ChatGPT better adapted to the teaching practice, relevant departments and teachers in colleges and universities should pay attention to three practical strategies: one is to guide students’ cognitive promotion and strengthen students’ emotional education; the second is to restructure the teaching connection between teachers and students and effectively promote the integration of teaching and research; the third is to innovate the teaching organization form and activate the inherent teaching system. This paper also focuses on the risk avoidance measures of ChatGPT in teaching practice.
