Vocabulary serves as the fundamental unit for understanding and expressing language meaning, playing a crucial role in the process of language learning. Context is the key to vocabulary teaching, and vocabulary teaching guided by contextual theory facilitates the accurate comprehension and usage of vocabulary. TTe meaning of a word is offen determined by the context in which it is used, and without appropriate contextual support, the exact meaning of words becomes difffcult to ascertain. In order to explore effective approaches to vocabulary teaching based on context, an analysis of the issues present in vocabulary instruction is conducted in this study. It begins by examining linguistic context, situational context, and cultural context, and elaborates on strategies for utilizing context in English vocabulary teaching, aiming to provide insights for English teachers in vocabulary instruction.
