Classroom silence, as a common phenomenon, has been studied by scholars at home and abroad. It has become a obstacle to the interaction between teachers and students, which not only affects the realization of classroom teaching objectives, but also is not conducive to the cultivation of students’ learning ability. In order to break the silence of middle school students and improve the atmosphere of classroom teaching, this paper analyzes the main reasons of classroom silence from three aspects: students’ factors, teachers’ factors and cultural factors. In view of the various factors that cause the phenomenon of classroom silence, this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve classroom silence, including paying attention to the growth of students, improving the teaching method, improving the way of asking questions, and creating a harmonious classroom atmosphere. Only by exploring the factors that cause classroom silence can we break the classroom silence.
