The basic theories of comparative education are the foundation of the development of comparative education. Based on the overview analysis and the in-depth analysis of the basic theoretical framework of comparative education proposed by Chen Shijian, this paper analyzes the theoretical articles (n=70) in the five years from 2017 to 2021 on CNKI, including the cooperation between the authors’ institutions, the frequency of the title keywords, clustering and mutations, and the following conclusions are obtained: (1) Beijing Normal University is an important center for the development of comparative education theory in China and a leader in international cooperation; (2) The nature and discipline construction of comparative education are still the focus of attention, and special attention has been paid to the research paradigm, especially methodology, to explore a way out in future data mining. (3) Scholars of comparative education prefer axiology and paradigm theory, and it is a trend to learn from theories from other disciplines to study comparative education. 4. Comparative education scholars actively respond to the call of the policy and strive to build China’s discourse system, such as a community with a shared future for mankind.
