By collecting the changes of the number of teachers and students and the number of schools in Chongqing primary schools from 1950 to 2020, this paper makes an in-depth analysis of the changes of the number of teachers and students in Chongqing primary schools and analyzes the reasons for the changes. According to the data, the broken line statistical chart and the FORECAST.ETS function are used to forecast the number of teachers and students in primary schools in Chongqing in the next ten years: the number of students in primary schools and the number of full-time teachers show a negative correlation trend in the next ten years. Combined with the data research, it is found that Chongqing primary education has a great development; The number of teachers is increasing; The number of students in school is decreasing. Some suggestions are put forward for primary education in Chongqing: formulating reasonable teacher mobility policy in urban and rural areas; Reduce class size and teach students according to their aptitude.
