Small school is the key for guaranteeing the proximity of rural students to remote schools as well as promoting the balanced development of compulsory education. However, there are many problems, in aspects of teacher’s role orientation, resource allocation, insufficient number of teachers and serious lossand so on. Therefore, Small schools in rural areas should adopt multigrade teaching, make full use of potential teaching resources, adopt effective teaching methods, attract outstanding teachers to teach and so on. Only applying these strategies, the quality of small schools and the long-term development of small schools should be promoted.
