With the basis of the English major translation courses, flipped classroom aims at constructing
critical thinking ability cultivating mode to improve the critical thinking ability of college students. The
mode involves the optimization of the teaching syllabus and the integration of ideological and political
elements and curriculum, the role of teachers and students in the three stages of teaching process,
including before class, in class and after class, and process evaluation method of critical thinking ability.
Questionnaire and other feedback from the experimental course suggests that the mode can effectively
improve students’ critical thinking ability.
