International Teacher Education Research: Cooperative Network, Hot Topics and Knowledge Foundation-Based on a Literature Measurement Analysis of 7 SSCI Journals (2016-2020)
Regular dynamic monitoring of the development of international teacher education disciplines
will help to narrow the gap between domestic and foreign teachers’ pedagogy research, and solve the
difficult problems of domestic teachers’ pedagogy research on the basis of learning from the research
results and practical experience of international peers. A literature measurement analysis of 2,527 papers
published in seven of the most influential SSCI journals in the field of international teacher education
over the past five years (2016-2020) found that: the field of international teacher education research
has formed a core author with Auli and other 57 people, with Michigan State University and other 101
institutions as the core research institutions, with the United States and other 17 countries or regions as
the core research force. On the whole, the research methods and paradigms of teacher education show
the trend of diversification. China’s teacher education should focus on method diversification, encourage
interdisciplinary, strengthen international and regional cooperation, and promote innovation in research
themes, methods and paradigms.
