Since China and the United States are both powerful in education, doing the comparative
study of higher education between those two countries can help us grasp the advanced concept, model
and system of education better. Analyzing the undergraduate specialized courses setting model of Radio
and Television Broadcasting in China and the United States, this paper puts forward that the setting of
core courses in the universities of China is more solidified and more continuity. While the American
universities are more likely to combine the latest development of science and technology with the social
demand for talents, and pay special attention to the training of students’ practical ability. From the aspect
of teaching effect, the pure theoretical education is undoubtedly difficult to arouse the students’ interest
in learning, and the basic points of theoretical knowledge are bound to lag behind the developing of
professional science and technology.
