Grated reading can provide children with reading materials suitable for their own language level
according to their mental development of different age groups, combined with their reading ability and
interests, so as to help them gradually improve their English reading level and finally realize independent
reading. This paper discusses how to use the complementary teaching mode of the integrating of
hierarchical picture books and textbooks to enable students to use limited language knowledge to enrich
their expressions, cultivate effective reading strategies, and then improve their English literacy.
