Based on a cross-cultural comparative perspective, it is found that school mental health services
in European countries, America, Hong Kong and Taiwan are characterized by legalization, a“three-level
intervention model”, and focusing on teachers’ professional skills, while China mainland is characterized
by policy recommendation, a dual-drive model combining “moral education and mental education”and
emphasizing on teachers' comprehensive ability. In the future, the mental health service model of
universities in mainland China can be improved from the following aspects: improve the standardization
of mental health services, determine departmental responsibilities and cooperation models, build a
scientific mental health service system, strengthen the construction of professional talents, innovate
service measures with Chinese characteristics and establish an effective service evaluation mechanism.
