Against the backdrop of telling China’s stories well and making China’s voice heard, studies on English
translation of modern and contemporary Chinese literature have become a hotly discussed topic in China.
Recently, the field has witnessed an increasingly diversified research contents, covering translated scripts, culture,
translators, publication and dissemination. Research horizons have become more inclusive, including Western
literary and art theories, interdisciplinary perspective and comparative perspective. Speculative studies and
empirical studies are progressing at a similar pace, while the research on representative authors and works has
yielded fruitful results. In order to comprehensively comprehend the present state of the field, it is imperative to
undertake a systematic sorting and summary. By utilizing CiteSpace as an aid, this study endeavors to discern the
current situation in this field from 2010 to 2022, with the aim of capturing the trend and subsequently formulating
several recommendations for future research.
