  • 摘要: 本文运用语料调查的方法对比研究英汉新冠疫情的隐喻建构。对比发现基于类似的身体体验,英、汉语 言社群对新事物的隐喻建构往往在初期具有较大的共性,而后的隐喻建构则不断突显英、汉自身特有的社会经验和思维认知。英、汉隐喻在对新冠疫情进行隐喻建构初期表现出一定的共性,如都涌现了大量的战争类隐喻和运动类隐喻,体现了体验与认知上的共性;而英、汉语社会中选择的其他类型的隐喻建构则体现了各自不同的社会集体经验的特点,如汉语中最为典型的应试教育类隐喻和英语中丰富的自然 灾害类隐喻,超自然能力隐喻。
  • This paper utilizes a material -based research method to make a contrastive study of metaphorical expressions about COVID-19 in English and Chinese. The research finds that in the initial stage, based similar physical experience, English and Chinese communities tend to choose the same source domain, for example a large number of war metaphors and sports metaphors have emerged, reflecting the commonness of experience and cognition. On the other hand, other types of metaphor construction in both languages reflect the characteristics of different experiences of each speech communities, such as the most typical exam-oriented education metaphor in Chinese and the abundant natural disaster metaphor and supernatural ability metaphor in English.
