Children’s picture books, as a branch of children’s literature, are being challenged with translation problems in readability, which is closely related to style reproduction and transformation in translation. This paper attempts to differentiate the concepts of style reproduction and transformation in translating children’s picture books. It’s believed that quality translation of children’s picture books should serve the target readers with proper translation methods based on culture differences between the source and target language, and the style translation should comply with target children’s thinking, emotional and aesthetic values, which can be achieved only by a combination of style reproduction and transformation in terms of phonetics, phonological and discourse translation in children’s picture books.
