The paper studies Milburn’s English translation of In the Dark from the Feminist perspective. The
findings are as follows: The translator’s academic research and translation practice are both influenced by
feminism. The feministic ideas and translation strategies are demonstated in her selection of the original work
and the version, and the rewriting of the images of the heroine. However, her feminism is not one strongly against
the males but mildly reflected in the translation, thus facilitating the readers’ acceptance of the translation work.
