The representation of discourse mode and narrative function in translating classical Chinese poetry is
closely related to the beauty of polyphony and communication. This research explores the discourse mode and
narrative function in the translations of Wang Wei’s poetry and examines the representation of them. It is found
that the clarification of discourse mode and narrative function can not only stimulate the beauty of polyphony
and communication, but also strengthen the vitality and pleasure, which exert positive effects on enriching the
theme and emotion of the poems.
