This study conducted a case psychological and diagnostic analysis on the Iranian table tennis team defeating a strong Japanese team with a weak victory in the men’s team quarter finals of the Hangzhou Asian Games. The aim was to derive the phenomenon of Harimoto Tomokazu, the core player of the Japanese team, who was “not weak when facing strong, not strong when facing weak”, as well as the real reasons for his difficulty in achieving the “stronger when facing strong, stronger when facing weak” state. The research results showed that this phenomenon is a manifestation of his immaturity, Due to the loopholes in the training system implemented by the Japanese team for New generation cultivation, the wisdom of the Iranian team coach precisely reveals that winning with the weak is not a dream in competitive sports. Conclusion: “stronger when facing strong, stronger when facing weak” is the highest level pursued by every athlete.
