Driven by rapid urbanization, rural settlements in semi-urbanized areas of China are facing or experiencing unprecedented morphological evolution and modern transformation. How to inherit, protect and develop rural civilization, and do a good job in the planning, design and reconstruction
of rural settlements in semi-urbanized areas during the transition period has become a major problem to be solved urgently. This paper discusses the basic characteristics, morphological evolution and development types of rural settlements in semi-urbanized areas, discusses their development mechanism and reconstruction path, and makes an empirical study of Mentougou District in Beijing. It is found that half of urbanization area rural settlements has experienced the traditional homogenization, late early heterogeneous heterogeneous mixed form, transformation function block layout form three phases, facing the differentiation and reorganization, can through the reorganization, the relocation of urbanization development and retention of three kinds of path reconstruction, divided into centralized placement under the guide of farmers xincun, Agricultural specialized villages and towns under the guidance of specialized agricultural production and folk tourism villages under the guidance of ecological tourism.
