With the in-depth development of the Internet, the protection of personal information in the e-commerce environment faces different issues from traditional privacy protection. Through empirical research, it is found that most e-commerce platforms prompt consumers with privacy policies before using their services to collect and protect personal information. However, upon analysis, it can be discovered that there are problems such as unequal status between the two parties, damage to consumers’ choice rights, inadequate protection of minors’ information, and the absence of relevant supervision. To address these issues, measures such as innovating personal information protection theories, optimizing the legal system, establishing user self-protection lines, strengthening protection for minors, and improving diversified supervision mechanisms can be adopted to regulate and improve the protection of personal information in e-commerce.
