Alongside the economic rise of post-war Japan and the development of the ACG cultural industry, “Moe Culture” gradually emerged and became a prevailing trend in Japan. In the 1990s and thereafter, with the gradual popularization of the Internet, teenagers started to grow up accompanied by the Internet, games, and anime. The Otaku group and ACG culture continued to thrive and expand. This project endeavors to conduct an in-depth and comprehensive study of the current Moe Culture, explore its development course in Japan, investigate the background and main conditions of this phenomenon, be vigilant about its potential threats and flaws, and draw social attention and reflection.
