Spoken communicative ability is an important skill to participatein social life and a focus of Chinese language education. However, theimplementation of spoken communication training in Chinese languageteaching in vocational colleges varies. This paper examines the strategies fordeveloping spoken communicative ability in vocational college students fromthree aspects: the necessity of cultivating spoken communicative ability invocational colleges, the cultivation and mastery of spoken communication inuniversity Chinese language courses in vocational colleges, and the strategiesfor enhancing vocational college students’ comprehensive quality in spokencommunication teaching. The discussion focuses on setting reasonable goalsfor spoken communication teaching, consciously designing components forspoken communication instruction, incorporating traditional cultural elementsin spoken communication teaching, and optimizing teaching language to fullyrealize the educational function of university Chinese language courses.
