As China enters the Internet era, labour relations have also entereda digital management phase, with many technologies being used by employersto manage workers, such as clocking in workers through their location,fingerprints and irises, and using video surveillance to monitor workers andcompany finances. In this process, the employer will inevitably obtain personalinformation of the workers and may violate the workers’ privacy and lead todisputes. This article discusses how to protect workers’ personal information byclarifying the boundary between personal information and privacy, in order tobalance the rights and interests of both workers and employers, reduce disputesand ultimately promote harmonious and stable development of labour relations.
