“Classic elegance entertain the soul” is derived from a poem of
Emperor Qianlong which praises the porcelain made by famous kilns in Song
Dynasty. These masterpieces were deeply loved by Emperor Yongzheng and
Emperor Qianlong for their unique charm, so there were many works imitating
famous kilns in Song Dynasty in their reign. This paper focuses on the imitation
works of Ru, Guan(official), GE and Jun glazed porcelains made in Yongzheng
and Qianlong reign, and analyzes their artistic achievements by using historical
materialism, combining the aesthetics of the Qing Dynasty represented by
practical aesthetics and the aesthetics of the Song Dynasty represented by
Neo Confucianism and Zen Buddhism. Meanwhile, re-examine the role of
imitation methods in the production of ceramic art, and provide new ideas for
the inheritance and protection of ceramic art production technology and new
product development.
