The use of the nationwide system in public health emergencies can quickly gather a large amount of resources under the powerful decision and control of Communist Party of China, and achieve significant results in a relatively short period of time. However, the national system also has some limits such as limited scope of application, insufficient participation of multiple subjects, uneven distribution of resources, waste of resources, difficulty in clarifying the responsibilities of all subjects and so on. To solve these problems, the nationwide system for emergency response to public health emergencies should be amended in the future by strictly controlling the trigger mechanism, promoting the sharing of power by multiple subjects, standardizing resource coordination mechanisms and clarifying the responsibilities of all subjects.
