The football course in college physical education major shoulders the mission of nurturing footballteaching talents and holds a pivotal position in the football talent training system. However, there are problems suchas unclear teaching objectives, relatively simple methods, a focus on skills-oriented content, and imperfect evaluationmethods in the course teaching, which hinder the further development of course teaching. This article introduces theOBE concept, explains its logical mechanism, and analyzes the feasibility of optimizing college physical educationmajor football course teaching based on the OBE concept. Therefore, this paper proposes optimization strategiesfor the teaching of college physical education major football courses, namely clarifying student-centered teachingobjectives; using student-centered, teacher-guided teaching methods; restructuring outcome-oriented course teachingcontent; and improving the evaluation mechanism combining results and processes in course teaching.
