The Value Connotation, Problem Review, and Breakthrough Strategies of Ideological and Political Construction in Primary and Secondary School Physical Education Curriculum under the Perspective of “Fostering Virtue to Build Character”
Primary and secondary school students are the future hope and cornerstone of China’s development,bearing the responsibility for realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. In this particular period, studentsexperience rapid development of both mind and body, standing at a critical juncture in the formation of theirworldviews, life perspectives, and value systems. They require an efficient, scientific, and systematic cultivationmodel as the cornerstone of character education. Curriculum ideology, which infuses politics into teaching, is anessential pathway to achieve this character education. Physical education, due to its direct impact on students’ physicalactivities, allows students to intuitively experience the spirit of ideological education during sports activities, offeringan irreplaceable value in nurturing individuals. However, despite the distinctive effectiveness of physical education incharacter building, it has not achieved the expected results in the practical process of school physical education. Theauthor believes that solutions should be sought from four aspects: schools, teachers, students, and curriculum design.By addressing these elements, we can fundamentally resolve issues and promote the development of ideologicaleducation in primary and secondary school physical education curricula, achieving the goal of nurturing individualsthrough sports and building character.
