The concept of ideological and political education in curriculum is to integrate ideological and political education into various professional courses, achieve a comprehensive education pattern for all staff, the entire process and all aspects, and integrate the educational concept. Due to the strong ideological and political elements inherent in physical education courses, it is difficult to further strengthen ideological and political education in physical education courses. The prominent problem with ideological and political education in college physical education courses is the hardening of methods and means. This study investigates the methods of implementing flexible ideological and political education in college physical education courses from the perspective of frontline physical education teachers. It is clearly proposed that ideological and political elements should be explored from the characteristics of sports events, rationalization of goal assessment should be strengthened, emphasis should be placed on the cultivation of team awareness, and specific methods such as using competition to cultivate competitive awareness and conducting setback education should be used. In addition, the evaluation mechanism of students, teachers, and course selection should be improved, ultimately improving the external environment of ideological and political education in sports courses.
