Objective: To better understand the health status of senior high school students in Wuhan. Methods: 15104 senior high school students in a district of Wuhan were tested by experiment. Results: (1) The overall qualified rate of physical health of senior high school students in Wuhan is close to 80%, and the qualified rate of girls is better than that of boys; (2) More than 30% of senior high school students are overweight or obese, especially among boys; (3) The vital capacity of physical function index is 2564-3793ml, with an average score of 68.86-74.91. The score decreases with the increase of grade, and the score of boys is slightly higher than that of girls. (4) Flexibility index: the flexion of sitting body is 12.73-18.12cm, with an average score of 74.98-79.64, and the scores of girls are higher than those of boys; (5) The speed quality index 50m runs from 7.98-10.15s, with an average score of 57.18 to 71.92, and the scores of boys are higher than those of girls; (6) The standing long jump in strength quality is 156.01215.42cm, with an average score of 55.92-65.6, and the scores of girls are higher than those of boys; (7) In strength endurance, the number of pull-ups for boys is 5.27-7.41, with an average score of 34.89-38.45, and the number of situps for girls in 1min is 31.67-34.69, with an average score of 66.28-68.06. The scores of girls are higher than those of boys. (8) In endurance quality, boys run for 259-298s in 1000m and girls run for 254-279s in 800m, with an average score of 54.33-61.95. Boys score higher than girls. Conclusion: The physical health of senior high school students in Wuhan is poor, with a large number of overweight and obese students. There is no obvious advantage in all physical qualities, and some of them are poor.
