Under the background of “double reduction” policy, this paper explores the particularity of the problems in the course of school PHYSICAL education. The research believes that the teaching effect of sports skills in school physical education is not obvious and students’ grasp is not reliable. The number of extracurricular exercises is less and the time is short; the number of school sports competitions is less, the form is single, and the students are not enough. In order to further improve the quality of school physical education teaching and teenagers’ physical fitness, school physical education should pay attention to three aspects: first, teachers’ “teaching”, optimize the organization form and improve their own accomplishment, improve students’ interest in learning sports skills; Second, students “practice”, turn potential extracurricular time into actual time for sports participation, increase the practice of learned motor skills; Third, the “regular competition”, the class competition is normalized and the school competition is fully mobilized, the “competition” into the “study, practice and competition”, increase the use of sports skills, further strengthen and consolidate sports skills.
