Ugly feet is an important creation of Chinese folk opera, and also an essential and important profession of Chinese classical opera. The Southern opera "Zhang Xie No.1 Yuan" is the earliest existing script that completely records the performance form and stage characteristics of ugly feet in China, among which there are many types of ugly feet, each has its own face. Although it is more complex, it can still explore the initial form and significance of the ugly foot in the southern opera. Moreover, "Zhang Xie Champion" was written in the transitional period from the Song and Jin Dynasty drama to the southern drama legend, ugly feet still have many shortcomings. The study of ugly feet at this stage has a typical significance for the development and evolution of ugly feet. By analyzing the ugly feet in Zhang Xie Champion, we can introduce the status and function of ugly feet in Southern Opera, and further explore the inheritance of foot color from Southern Opera to the legend of Ming and Qing dynasties.
