Monetary relations in Asia from the US dollar as the sole anchor currency
in the Bretton Woods system to 1997 caused by economic and financial speculation
in Southeast Asia The weakness and chaos after the Asian financial crisis in and the
efforts of Asian countries to deal with the financial crisis together reflect the trend of
Asian monetary relations from relying on the US dollar system to mutual coordination
and cooperation, but still limited by the economic and institutional factors that make it
difficult for the monetary and financial relations in the region to be highly integrated.
