In order to prevent the over-voltage of the locomotive passing through the
split phase insulator from damaging the locomotive control system and ensuring the
normal operation of the train, resistance and capacitance devices are often installed
at both ends of the insulator. The high voltage and large capacity capacitance are the
core components of the device. In this paper, a ceramic capacitor bank with small
volume and low dielectric loss is designed and manufactured by selecting a kind of
ceramic material with high dielectric constant. The capacitor consists of 16 parallel
capacitor units, each of which is composed of three ceramic capacitor elements in
series. Through the reasonable arrangement of capacitor bank structure, the stress
concentration of epoxy resin pouring is prevented on the basis of ensuring the basic
electrical performance, the amount of epoxy resin is reduced, and the environmental
protection performance of the product is improved. The product has the characteristics
of large capacitance, small dielectric loss, environmental protection and no oil
pollution, and has started industrial production and put into use of related lines.
