The Present Situation and Path Exploration and Innovation of International Communication of Chinese Documentary —Take Nature Documentaries as an Example
For a long time, due to many factors, the West’s perception of China’s national image is often
negative, and international communication is still stuck in “cultural discount”. Practice shows that
documentary is the most realistic, three-dimensional, and comprehensive form of culture and art to
show China, which is both intellectual, artistic, educational and entertaining. Among them, nature
documentaries, which are less topical, have natural advantages in international communication, and
can be regarded as the main force of current and future international communication. Taking nature
documentaries as an example, this paper discusses the current situation of international communication
of Chinese documentaries, the exploration of paths and related innovative strategies, and provides a
reference for Chinese cultural “going out” project.
